Why We Do Want We Do!
ARF is proud to introduce you to a very special friend of the foundation, Miss Kayla Soldano! Kayla was one of our Spring 2015 American Girl Fashion Show models and she truly exhibits what ARF is all about.
Kayla’s younger brother passed away shortly after his birth and Kayla holds him dear to her heart. He suffered from a very rare birth defect by the name of “Encephalocele“. This condition causes the skull to not close normally and/or completely which can result in the brain growing outside the skull. While there are children surviving with Encephalocele, they suffer cognitive and developmental delays ranging from minimal to severe.
Kayla proudly found her purpose while modeling in the AGFS and shared with her Mom (Tonya Soldano) that had her brother lived, her family may have needed help from an organization like ARF. Kayla specifically picked ARF , because of what she’d learned at the fashion show combined with her family’s experience, and went above and beyond in trying to help other families with critically ill children.
Kayla hosted a “birthday celebration” honoring her brother and collected donations for the Aubrey Rose Foundation. She collected and personally delivered $210 in donations to Jerry Hollenkamp – a visit both Jerry and Kayla enjoyed (check out those smiles!) Jerry offered “It was very touching when she brought the money in … she said that she wanted to help us to help sick kids.”
Well Kayla – you definitely helped ARF help sick kids and we’re very grateful! We can’t do what we do without YOU and the many others who understand the importance of our mission! We’re certain your brother and Aubrey are smiling down on you and are proud of your heart and hard work!
Congratulations & Thank you!
Jerry & Nancy Hollenkamp
All the various events that we have are in an effort to help families with children who have life-threatening medical condition.

Kya’s Family and the Aubrey Rose Foundation THANKS YOU!!!
Each month Crave features a different non-profit partner to raise awareness and funds for an array of incredible organizations. In celebration of their sixth year of the program, Crave has partnered with Round It Up America to enable guests to “round up” their check to donate to their monthly partner.
Guests are also able to order off the Specialty CRAVE Cares Menu each month, where a percentage of the sales are, in turn, donated to the organization!
During the month of June, Crave is partnering with the Aubrey Rose Foundation!
Thank you Crave Cares and the Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar for Rounding Up for the Aubrey Rose Foundation!
We truly appreciate you being a part of the Aubrey Rose Foundation.
Hopefully you’re enjoying this beautiful weather we are experiencing! We love this weather too but it’s a reminder that there are many families who are stuck in hospitals with their child and cannot take part in summer activities that we take for granted. It’s a reminder that there are children and families who need our help year around. Jerry and I want to thank every one of you that helps us, either by being a volunteer, participating in any of our special events, or simply by donating to the foundation directly. It’s because of the generosity of many like you, that we can do our part to help families! Here is a message we received and we wanted to share this with you. It’s from a family that we helped … and wow … did this take us by surprise!
I would like to share with you a recent photo of Baby Maui who was your recipient of your generosity 5 years ago. She will be turning 5 on June 24th. She has a sister and we named her Aubrey Rose in honor of your benevolent hearts. On behalf of the our family, we are forever grateful for making this miracle happen.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and double lungs for your helping us help sick children and their families!!!
|Here are some ways you can help us raise much needed funds to continue to help children and their families…|

We would like to introduce you to Chase and his parents, Amanda and John.
Chase LOVES his new wheelchair accessible van that the Aubrey Rose Foundation help fund! He even got to pick his favorite color for the van – BLUE!
The Holland Family knew something was wrong when Chase was born and they visited doctor after doctor trying to find out what was wrong. Chase was 5 when they finally received a diagnosis/ Chase has Pelizacus-Merzbacher disease. His illness is a rare genetic condition that causes impairments to his intellectual function and motor skills. This basically means that Chase is trapped in a body he cannot use, says Chase’s Mom, Amanda.
Chase is an 11 year old that sees and hears everything going on around him. His love for his parents and family is shown through his beautiful big eyes and handsome smile. This is his only form of communication. When Chase gets in his van, you know he is happy with that big smile that he makes! And when Chase smiles, his Mom and Dad smiles too!
Helping Chase and his family is part of the Aubrey Rose Foundation’s mission and to enable us to help many families like Chase’s, we have some upcoming fundraisers because there are so many more children and families to help!
