The Aubrey Rose Foundation is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Ladies Night Out called “City Chicks for Charity“. This event will take place at Switch Lighting & Design, 312 West 4th St., Cincinnati, OH, on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
We are very excited to announce that this year we will be Partnering with Adopt a Book. Adopt a Book is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization located in Loveland, OH, started by 14 year old twins, Hannah and Alexander. These two book-loving twins were inspired to start Adopt a Book in November 2011, when they were just 8 years old after they heard about kids in the Greater Cincinnati area who didn’t own books of their own. To date, they have donated over 112,000 books to over 100 organizations, schools and programs serving children in need. Many of the kids that receive their books have never been to a Library, don’t have access to a Library or have ever owned a book of their own.
Hannah and Alex collect new and gently used children’s books and then deliver them to kids in need of books for pre-kindergarten through third grade. By third grade, if a child hasn’t started reading books in the home, it is difficult to make that transition.
HOW CAN WE HELP??? We are asking each guest to bring a book or books to the City Chicks for Charity event. The books should be New or Gently Used. For each book that you bring to the event, you will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Week Long Trip to Gatlinburg, TN. You will stay in a Two Bedroom, Two Bath Condo and enjoy the mountain air for one week. Value of this trip is over $1,000.
Just think if every person that attended the event was able to donate 1 book to the Adopt a Book how many children Hannah and Alexander would be able to help.
The proceeds from this event will benefit the Aubrey Rose Foundation to help fund programs and services to families with children facing life-threatening illnesses. We will also be assisting Adopt a Book with their mission of donating books to kids who don’t own their own books. The Aubrey Rose Foundation helps families locally and internationally. We are a 501(c)3 Foundation run exclusively by volunteers. By attending you are contributing to our medical fund so that we can help pay for needed treatment and make the difference between life and death.
Your ticket will include food, two drink tickets, fashion shows through out the evening, and a swag bag (sponsored by Trader Joe’s).
Tickets are $35 if purchased prior to June 7th; $40 after June 7th and at the door.
|A special Thelma & Louise Weekend Getaway to Nashville Raffle, valued at over $1,700, will be held at this year’s event.
