“WHY” We Reach High!!!
Precious 6-year-old Aleena suffered a Hypoxic Brain Injury at birth which lead to Cerebral Palsy, severe Global Developmental Delays & Epilepsy. Tough little Aleena is currently non-verbal & mobile but working very hard to learn to walk and survive physically and mentally. Aleena is in need of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy which, while incredibly expensive, physicians believe will be quite helpful to her progress.
Adorable Josie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was just 4-years-old. Josie’s body doesn’t have any insulin creating cells & she must take synthetic insulin injections multiple times a day to survive. She must also be monitored around the clock to prevent seizures, coma and DKA – a potentially fatal complication of too high blood sugar.
Sweet Miss Madison was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic & lymphocytic leukemia in May 2016. Madison goes into the clinic/hospital weekly for chemo infusions as well as takes chemo/steroid medicine orally at home. She’ll have to do all of this until at least August 2018.
“HOW” We Restore Hope!
Jerry & Nancy Hollenkamp know first hand the struggles that come with caring for a critically ill child. This is why, over the past 16 years, the Aubrey Rose Foundation has gifted over $1 Million dollars to lift the unbearable emotional & financial weight placed on families caring for children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
97 cents of every dollar donated to the Aubrey Rose Foundation is distributed to these children & their families through one of the many ARF Mission Programs, including individual family financial support, academic scholarships, CCHMC Healing the World’s Hearts Program, and themed Patient Parties & Dinners.
