Each month Crave features a different non-profit partner to raise awareness and funds for an array of incredible organizations. In celebration of their sixth year of the program, Crave has partnered with Round It Up America to enable guests to “round up” their check to donate to their monthly partner.
Guests are also able to order off the Specialty CRAVE Cares Menu each month, where a percentage of the sales are, in turn, donated to the organization!
During the month of June, Crave is partnering with the Aubrey Rose Foundation!
Thank you Crave Cares and the Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar for Rounding Up for the Aubrey Rose Foundation!
Here is a child that the Aubrey Rose Foundation is helping and we are asking for your help as well to vote for him to receive a specialized bike that would be amazing for him and his parents.
Talon M. is a 15 years old boy that was born with a brain injury. There is no explanation as to why his brain did not developed correctly but it has left him with many challenges. He is nonverbal, incontinent and severely delayed in many areas both physically & mentally.
When Talon was small, his parents would pull him behind their bikes in a child bike trailer and he absolutely loved it. Once he out grew the weight limit on the trailer, his parents tried to teach him to ride a bike on his own but it became quickly evident that because of his limited mental capacity, paired with his limited physical coordination, it would be impossible for him to control a bike on his own and to be safe.
The bike that they have chosen to try to win, The Freedom Concepts Tandem, would be perfect for Talon. He would be secured in the seat with the back rest and straps and could get some exercise pushing the pedals around but he would be safe because someone else would be in control of steering and his safety.
The Great Bike Giveaway is a campaign started by Friendship Circle of Michigan giving children and teens with special needs an opportunity to win an adaptive bike. The Great Bike Giveaway was started in 2012 and has grown each year. In 2016 we hope to give away 600 adaptive bikes.
- Donate if you like, but not necessary.
- Vote for Talon M. (You will be asked to log in to Facebook to vote.)
- Share with your friends and family. When you share, let people know that all they have to do is scroll down to the “vote” section and click the vote button and their vote will be counted, as long as they have a Facebook account. You can only vote once!
Almost every child can recall their first experience learning to ride a bike and the exhilaration and confidence that came with mastering this skill. We believe every child deserves to have that same experience, regardless of their abilities. Adaptive bikes give individuals with special needs independence, exercise and most importantly the chance to be included in bike rides with their friends and family.
