Helping families with children that have life-threatening medical conditions is our mission. We help a lot of families as well as require a lot of volunteers to help us with this mission. We would be so honored to have you join us! You are welcome to join any of our fundraisers, but I do want to highlight one committee that will be starting and that is our Let’s Dance for the Heart of it!
On Thursday, June 4, we will be having our kick-off meeting for our Dance Committee and everyone is welcome to join us! This will take place at the Aubrey Rose Foundation office located at 3862 Race Road in Bridgetown (westside of Cincinnati). Please click here to let us know you will be joining us. It’s a wonderful group of people that have the same mission in mind … putting smiles on the faces of many children and their families and while we’re all doing this, we are having a great time too. WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Here is a letter from a family that the Aubrey Rose Foundation has helped. We continue to receive letters like this one which only makes us want to help more families.
Dear Aubrey Rose Foundation,
My wife and I would like to extend a very heartfelt note of appreciation to the Aubrey Rose Foundation for its recent generosity toward our family. Our son, Elijah, was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome in 2008 and has had three open-heart surgeries since birth. This past August, Elijah had to undergo a heart catheterization to repair a hole that was left in his heart after his third heart surgery in 2011. The hole was left intentionally during the last surgery to help his heart adjust to the new blood flow; it should have closed by itself but it didn’t. After an echocardiogram discovered that it was still there, there was no choice but to have it closed through another procedure. We are very blessed to have health insurance through my job, but even after the insurance kicked in, the amount left for us to pay was still a hardship for us. Through the kindness of the Aubrey Rose Foundation, we no longer owe the remaining balance. We are extremely grateful for their generosity and compassionate mission to help families of children with life-limited illnesses. We would like to thank every donor of the Aubrey Rose Foundation for making this possible. You have blessed us more than you’ll ever know.
The purpose of Writely Sew is serving schools, fraternities, sororities, and any kind of business, as well as other non-profit organizations with embroidery, ink to garment embellishments and promotional products in order to save them some precious funds. In addition, we will be developing a line of children’s medical clothing with each piece having a tag that will tell Aubrey Hollenkamp’s story of her journey through open-heart surgeries and a heart and double lung transplant. What better way of telling her story to help children and their families than having it attached to kids clothing!

AMERICAN GIRL FASHION SHOW
The American Girl Fashion Show occurs each year and is a fun-filled afternoon for girls, their families and favorite dolls! We have so many kind, caring and giving young models who realize they can help children who are sick through this wonderful fundraiser.
We would like to share with you about one special model… her name is Jessie who is 4 years old and she wanted to make a difference for kids who are sick. She developed a line of sunglasses called “Shades by Jesse”. Her goal was to raise $500…well she hit that her first week, so she stretched it to a $1000 and when she did a check presentation at our rehearsals, her total was $1500!!! Isn’t this amazing!
We want to thank Jessie and her family for being such a generous supporter of the Aubrey Rose Foundation. We also wanted to share that Jessie outfits both adults and children and she is wanting to sell more. For more information and to order your own uniquely bedazzled sunglasses visit their website http://www.shadesbyjessie.com or find them on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/shadesbyjessie
