Hello Everyone,
We have a lot of excitment going on with the Aubrey Rose Foundation and also with our new businesses, Writely Sew and Aubrey Rose Apparel. Because of these endeavors we will be able to help many more children and their families and we have a lot of people to thank who have helped us along the way to get where we are! That includes wonderful people like you who believe in what we do and who support us through volunteering, through donations and through spreading the good word about the Aubrey Rose Foundation. We are so blessed to be able to continue to grow this mission and put smiles on the faces of many children and their families.
We also have a great group of Scholarship Recipients and their Families who continue to give back and help where it’s needed and it’s so rewarding to see these students grow and develop into wonderful and caring and very giving young adults. We’re excited about our Scholarship Program and will be announcing big plans next month for an expansion of this program.
Jerry and I our celebrating our 27th anniversary this week and with a lot of love and respect will be able to celebrate 50 more anniversaries! It seems like just yesterday but then again, it seems like forever and I say that in the most loving of ways! We’re very blessed to have had 3 children from this marriage and our kids are loving, kind-hearted and have experienced more of life than what most adults have ever due to Aubrey but because of this, they are kids who can go with the flow and can hold their head up high and we’re very proud of them.
Below, you will see information on our Open House and we hope everyone can come out to see the new office and what services we can provide. We’re very excited to share with you our new adventures!
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and double lungs for your support, your kindness and most of all your belief in the Foundation!

Exciting News– Writely Sew And Aubrey Rose Apparel
The
Aubrey Rose Foundation has some very exciting news: we would like to announce
that we are NOW in the embroidery/embellishment business. From scratch,
we have formed the businesses, Writely Sew and Aubrey Rose Apparel,
that will be able to fill your apparel needs. The reason for these two
businesses is that it is in perfect alignment with the mission of the
Aubrey Rose Foundation.
The purpose of Writely Sew is serving schools, fraternities,
sororities, and small businesses, as well as other non-profit organizations
in order to save them some precious funds. In addition, we will be developing
a line of children’s clothing with each piece having a tag that
will tell Aubrey Hollenkamp’s story of her journey through open-heart
surgeries and a heart and double lung transplant. What better way of telling
her story than having it attached to kids clothing!
The most awe-inspiring and rewarding thing about these business is that
all of the proceeds from Writely Sew and Aubrey Rose Apparel go directly
into the Aubrey Rose Foundation so that we can continue to help many more
families and children with life-threatening medical conditions. We could
not have stitched up a more perfect creation than this business!
We are inviting everyone to our open houses at our new
facility located in Mt. Healthy. Please put one of these on your calendar
to come visit us at 7805 Affinity Place, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
For all of the Foundation’s family and friends,
please join us on Wednesday, September 23, from 4-8pm.
For businesses in the surrounding communities, we are
looking forward to seeing all of you on Thursday, September 24 from 4-8pm.
While at our open houses, you will be given more information on our business
and to have the opportunity to see the services we are able to provide.
Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Harvest Home Parade and Harvest Home Fair
What a beautiful night we had for the Harvest Home Parade. We had a lot of our scholarship recipients there as well as some of the parents and friends of the Foundation. It was a great night which raised some awareness of the Aubrey Rose Foundation.
We also had a booth at the Harvest Home Fair where we passed out the Relia Dose medical baby bottles. It was a beautiful weekend and we got to talk with a huge amount of people in explaining how this special baby bottle works and people were thrilled to receive these. We passed out over 5000 bottles and definitely put smiles on the faces of many.
The
Aubrey Rose Foundation has been given a very valuable gift from
a special friend of ours and we want to be able to give this gift
away to those that could use this. It’s the ReliaDose®
baby bottle used for when your baby needs medicine.
ReliaDose® works with a baby's natural desire to feed, providing an easy and precise way to give medicine to a baby. It can ensure complete and gentle dosing of over-the-counter and prescribed liquid medication, as well as for liquid vitamin/mineral supplementation. Designed for accuracy and ease of use, it's a medicine delivery system that works for both babies and their caregivers.
ReliaDose® is comprised of a patented dual-chamber nipple, bottle, and dosing syringe. The dual chamber nipple doesn't allow for mixing of the medicine from the inner chamber and the bottle liquid from the outer chamber until it enters the baby's mouth. This masks the taste of the medicine while ensuring accurate dosing. The 2 oz. (60 ml) bottle can be filled with whatever baby likes to drink. The 5 ml syringe, which fits inside the specially designed bottle, allows for medicine to be given at a rate comfortable for the baby while ensuring the right amount of medicine has been delivered.

If
you cannot make our open house and you would like us to ship you
a bottle, please email
nancy@aubreyrose.org and we’d be happy to mail you a bottle
for free but shipping will be extra.
Aubrey’s Foundation would like to thank the ABF Freight System, Inc. for their kindness and generosity for moving these bottles to our warehouse for us.
We wish we would have had this bottle when Aubrey was still here with us because we could have definitely used this.
Fireworks Spectacular - "The Best Seats on the River"
Every year the WEBN fireworks keep getting better! And the folks who joined us that night had the best seats in Cincinnati. We had a sold-out house for an unforgetable night of dinner, drinks, watching the fireworks with a front row seat all the while you are helping children with a life-threatening medical condition and their families at the same time.
We
had a wonderful seat for the fireworks and didn't even have to wait all
day to get it! When we said we were close, we were right there with nothing
blocking our view. We could see the barges and the both bridges where
the fireworks were coming from. It was so awesome to see the spectacular
fireworks and feel them as well and we could experience this in the comfort
of the Belle of Cincinnati!
Please put this on your calendar for next year Sunday, September 5th, 2010. You don't want to miss this!
The
Aubrey Rose Foundation has teamed up with Christian Chapman "The
Faster Pastor" to help him and his ministry reach out to
1000's of children so close to the USA in his unusual approach to ministry.Christian
is a preacher in his church in Charlotte N.C. and The Baja Project is
an opportunity to do outside the box ministry that most churches can’t
do because their focus is inward driven by discipleship and local
community
outreach. Christian is teaming up with his good friend
to race in the Baja Project.
Christian and Chris support and love the local church and their efforts
to reach those that are around the corner but they also understand that
Jesus’ ministry was mobile as well as were most of the disciples
and apostles of the early church. Jesus Himself reminded the disciples
of their mission with his words in Acts 1:8 “But you will receive
power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses
in Jerusalem, and Samaria, and even to the remotest places on earth. Please

Ronald McDonald, "Down on the Farm"
Down
on the Farm
was a huge hit with a packed house and fun things for the kids to do.
We have a slew of wonderful volunteers who came to help us with this
dinner. These dinners are so special not only for the families living
at Ronald McDonald House but for our volunteers as well. I think everyone
walks away with a smile on their face and that's our goal!!
It's tough having to live at a Ronald McDonald House because you are away from your families and friends in a strange city and your child is sick enough for you to have to go out of town for treatment. It's indeed scary but having a Ronald McDonald House for someone to "live" in is a blessing in disguise. From personal experience, the Hollenkamp's lived at the Cleveland and Philadelphia Ronald McDonald Houses for about 8 months in total while Aubrey's Grandparents, lived at the Camden, New Jersey House when they would come to visit. They are very special places and will forever hold special places in their hearts!
The Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House was expanded to 78 rooms so we're very busy hosting 200+ families.
If you would like to join our future dinners, please send Nancy an email at nancy@aubreyrose.org
