Hello Everyone,
It seems like Summer one day, then Autumn the next…it must be Spring in Cincinnati! Another way I can tell it’s Spring is by the graduations happening everywhere.
And graduations mean we're out many nights giving out our 2009 Scholarships to kind-hearted students who took the time to write an essay and tell us how they have given back to their community not because they had to but because they did it out of the kindness of their hearts. This coming Monday will be our last school in our annual 2 week round. We’ve been busy, but it’s a great busy!
Talking about "Great Busy", we just completed another successful Aubrey’s Open Golf Outing at Aston Oaks. Golfers and friends and families had a great time at the silent auction and enjoyed the wonderful food donated by our sponsors, Texas Roadhouse and JTM. And of course, thank you, thank you to our wonderful volunteers.
After the Golf Outing, our next venture for this year will be on the very boat from which WEBN broadcasts for the Fireworks on Labor Day weekend. You talk about the best seat on the river!!! We will have it! In addition to the dinner, drinks and everything built in to this day, we will be giving you your very own director's chair to sit and watch the fireworks and then take home with you! Now that is the BEST seat on the river!
Our last major event this year will be the November 13, Dance for the Heart of it at the Cincinnati Hilton Netherland Plaza. We're very excited about our new venue at the Netherland and hope you will be able to join us. So mark your calendar now.
With this economy, our need is greater because the community of families we serve needs even more help. Of course donations are always wonderful but you may not be in a position to donate money right now… but what about some of your time?
Without volunteers we could never fulfill our goals.
We're so very proud of the many volunteers that we have with the Foundation and we welcome all of you out there who would like to join in. Please know, that with everyone at the Foundation being a volunteer, all the funds raised, minus a few dollars for expenses, go toward helping children with life-threatening medical conditions and that's got to put a smile on your face!!! Please send me an email if you’d like to help. nancy@aubreyrose.org
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and double lungs for your support, your kindness and most of all your belief in the Foundation!Jerry, Nancy, Carly, Spencer and Saint Aubrey Hollenkamp

We
are in the graduation mode of our Foundation right now. We are nearing
the end of the school graduations where we have been giving out our
scholarships to individuals who took the time to write an essay for
us. Our criteria is for 8th g
raders
who are going on to Catholic high school education in the archdiocese
of Cincinnati. We promise 25 scholarships but we have
been known to give out more. We present our scholarships at the schools'
graduations or award ceremonies with parents in attendance. The reason
for this is so that parents can see their child being rewarded for this
kindness and caring! Our scholarships are not based on academics nor
athletics but rather how good of a child they are and this needs to
be recognized.
This year we started a Junior Scholarship Board. This Junior Scholarship Board will be headed up by Anthony Buford, ARF Board Member and will consist of former scholarship recipients who have stayed active with Aubrey’s Foundation. This Junior Scholarship Board will oversee the applications coming in for the 25 scholarships that Aubrey’s Foundation gives out every year. This year our Junior members are Brian Jacob and Mike Staud.
We will be having a Scholarship Reception on June 10 to celebrate these scholarships.
We
had a beautiful day for our 9th Annual Aubrey’s Open Golf Outing that
was held on
Sunday,
May 17, 2009 at the beautiful Aston Oaks Golf Course. We had a packed outing
with 144 golfers and many of these golfers had their family members come
for dinner and our silen
t
auction.
We
are very pleased to announce that we were able to generate $18,000 to achieve
our mission of helping families caring for children with life threatening
illnesses with our focus being on the family unity.
As
I said above we are so thankful to our sponsor of many years, the
Texas Roadhouse. And of course without the volunteers who give their time
we could never realize our mission.

Dance for the Heart of it 2009
We’re excited
this year to be able to bring you our “Let’s
Dance for the Heart of It!” at Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza on
Friday, November 13, 2009. Please put this on your calendar because this will
be one memorable night.
We just had our kick-off meeting for the dance last night and so we don’t have a theme yet or an emcee so I don’t have too many details to add. We will be having live music with the band Stays in Vegas and we also have Anna and Milovan who will sing for us during dinner. If you'd like to be on our volunteer committee please contact Nancy at nancy@aubreyrose.org.
