Happy New Year to everyone! We hope you and your family had a wonderful and healthy Holiday Season! It's hard to believe it's 2009!
Aubrey's Foundation ended the year on a fantastic note with having our Annual Holiday Party and we were able to do a "12 Days of Christmas" that is so special it makes our families Christmas just by being able to give someone the gift of love, hope and joy!
We have some very exciting things planned for this year starting with our American Girl Fashion Show auditions at all of the Toyota dealers in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. After those we have our Ronald McDonald "Blue's Brother's Party" that will be a great relief from the hospital blues that sometimes happen!
We are always looking for new volunteers to help us with our mission and there are many ways to help. It could be you donating your time and/or your talents or it could be involving your generosity with funds. Please send an email to us and we'd be happy to welcome you to the Aubrey Rose Foundation so that you can help us with with helping families with a child who has a life-threatening medical condition.
Thank you to all of you for your love and continuing support of the Aubrey Rose Foundation!Love to you and your family!

Holiday Party was a Great Success
This was a very special Holiday Party held for the
children and their families in the Heart Center/CICU (Cardiac Intensive
Care
Unit) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
The December 16 Holiday Party was such a special night with 21
families participating
as well as amazing Cyclones
Players who took time from
their busy schedule to attend. Nate Lawrie and Frostie
Rucker from the Bengals and David Fulcher,
a former Bengal were there as well. They were super as well,
taking pictures and
signing autographs.
We can't forget about our mascots who attended. We had Who
Dey from the Bengals, Twister from the Cyclones and from the Reds,
Gapper - who really was in rare form that night.
The families got to enjoy a scrumptious meal as well as be entertained by Travis the Magician. The Party ended by everyone opening up gifts. There was laughter, tears of joy and for a few short hours, the families forget they were in the hospital!
Click here to enjoy the pictures from the Holiday Party and see our youngest patients at the Party!
On Saturday, 1/31, we’re going to be hosting a “Blues Brothers' Party” This should be really fun for the families and a real Kodak moment when the families will get some fancy hats and sunglasses so that they can play the part of Jack and Elwood and we may even have a surprise visit from Jake and Elwood!
Aubrey's Foundation does a "12 Days of Christmas" where
we pick a family that has a child with a life-threatening medical condition
and do
a tower of gifts for the family. The idea behind this gift is to make this
family feel special. The tower is filled with practical items for each member
of the family including Grandma and Grandpa as well as family gifts too, including
a photography session for the entire family - how often do you get the chance
to make memories...and that's what this gift is all about! We wanted every
one of this family of 7 to feel joy and happiness and I think we accomplished
this immensely.
It was a complete surprise to the family and we worked with the Grandparents to make this happen. When we brought this tower over to Grandma, she started crying and she just knew how much her daughter and her family would appreciate this.
On Christmas day we received a phone call from Mom and she was in tears telling how much this meant to her family Here is a heartfelt thank you from this family:
"Thank you for bringing us joy, hope and peace this Christmas season. We are so humbled and blessed by what you have done for our family. We look forward to becoming part of the Aubrey Rose family and to paying it forward by bringing joy to other families in need. Lots of love and hugs from the Molfetta Family!"
In difficult economic times like all of us are experiencing, Giving USA 2008 says that giving continues through good times and bad. Donors still have an interest in supporting charities through their capital and endowment campaigns and through various planned gifts. Donors have many options for giving such as the use of non-cash gifts for donations. This can be done on a current or a deferred basis which gives you flexibility and offers more options for giving.
The Aubrey Rose Foundation has kicked-off our first ever Annual Campaign and our goal with this is to help over 10,000 children and their families. The Foundation looks forward to working with you on the various donations you can give.
If you would like to participate in this Annual Campaign, you are welcome to donate online at www.aubreyrose.org, or you can give gifts of appreciated securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds. The gifts of appreciated property generate two tax benefits, 1) a charitable deduction for its market value and 2) avoidance of tax on the appreciation. So this could be a win-win for you and for the Aubrey Rose Foundation.
Please consult with your financial planner or tax advisor to guide you on how this can be accomplished so that you could help us help many more children and their families.
From artwork to beadwork to jewelry... MAYcreations has created a line of Aubrey Rose Foundation jewelry that is all hand-made and designed to raise money and awareness for the Foundation.
MAYcreations is proud to have been selected to produce a collection

especially designed for the Aubrey Rose Foundation. This is a complete
line
of bracelets, necklaces, pendants and more. There are four styles of beads,
each in two combinations of colors.
We can't do justice to the beauty of this jewelry in this newsletter so please visit our website at http://www.aubreyrose.org/jewelry.php to see it at its best.
