Thank you to all of you for your love and continuing support of the Aubrey Rose Foundation!
Could it be? Christmas in only two weeks? And then, only one week later 2008 will be over! 2008 was a troubling year for so many. But these troubling economic times should help to remind us all about the true meaning of Christmas and how many other children want only their health this Christmas. We pray for all of them and all of you who have helped to make 2008 the best year yet for the Aubrey Rose Foundation.
Our recent Let's Dance for the Heart of It party was a great success because of all the help we received. We're so pleased that Lee Schaefer is joining us to help keep us growing. And we do have one more event this year, our annual Holiday Party, next Tuesday for the the children and their families in the Heart Center/CICU at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. We have kicked-off our first ever Annual Campaign and our goal with this is to help over 10,000 children and their families. For last minute gift givers we have created a beautiful line of Aubrey Rose Jewelry, with proceeds going to the Foundation. With everything going on it's hard to focus on next Spring when our American Girl Fashion Show takes place. But if November is any example, January will be here before we can blink and January is when model auditions start. So please check times and locations below and on the flyer.Love to you and your family!

2008 Let's Dance - a Wonderful Success!
On behalf of the Aubrey Rose Foundation and all associated
with our 2008 Let's Dance for the Heart of It!, we would like to sincerely
thank
all of you who participated through your attendance, donations, and
sponsorships. All of you helped to make this a very rewarding night
both financially and socially. Many, many children will benefit from
this enjoyable evening.
If you would like to see some pictures from that night, please go to www.ginabreyfogle.com they are on the main gallery page under Let's Dance. We would like to thank Gina for taking these wonderful pictures for us.
We would also like to thank our Dance Committee for all of their input, for all of our volunteers for that evening including our scholarship recipients who came to help us and to the Newport Syndicate for their help and support of this wonderful evening.
We are so pleased to have Lee with the Aubrey Rose Foundation. He brings
years of experience and a can-do attitude toward helping children and
adults.
After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1978 with a business
degree, Lee became a traveling salesman selling sports apparel. The constant
driving took a toll on his cars, and soon he became acquainted with the
only vehicle donation program then in existence, the Volunteers of America.
After donating his second car, he visited its operations to see “where
my money was going.” The tour provided Lee with a glimpse of real
poverty, and motivated him to become more involved with the group. He
joined its board of trustees and in 1997 took a job as development director.
By 2002, he’d been promoted to vice president.
It was around this time that Lee, while visiting a disabled friend, saw
a need for an inexpensive cleaning service to help the disabled. Waking
up later that night he outlined a business plan for a no/low-cost cleaning
service for people like his friend. Funded by local commercial cleaning
operations he founded Clean Sweep a non-profit company devoted to providing
those cleaning services.
Lee believes in what the Aubrey Rose Foundation is doing and wants to
help us every step of the way. “There’s nothing I’d
rather do than put the Foundation in America’s top 100 non-profits.” Says
Lee!
This is a very special Holiday Party held for the children and their families in the Heart Center/CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
It will be in the Sabin Center Auditorium beginning at 6pm, and there will be surprises guaranteed to brighten the faces of many children and their families. Great food, wonderful goodies, extra special guests and lots of laughs and smiles will be sure to bring appreciation, Holiday cheer and warmth in the hearts of these very sensational people! In difficult economic times like all of us are experiencing, Giving USA 2008 says that giving continues through good times and bad. Donors still have an interest in supporting charities through their capital and endowment campaigns and through various planned gifts. Donors have many options for giving such as the use of non-cash gifts for donations. This can be done on a current or a deferred basis which gives you flexibility and offers more options for giving.
The Aubrey Rose Foundation has kicked-off our first ever Annual Campaign and our goal with this is to help over 10,000 children and their families. The Foundation looks forward to working with you on the various donations you can give.
If you would like to participate in this Annual Campaign, you are welcome to donate online at www.aubreyrose.org, or you can give gifts of appreciated securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds. The gifts of appreciated property generate two tax benefits, 1) a charitable deduction for its market value and 2) avoidance of tax on the appreciation. So this could be a win-win for you and for the Aubrey Rose Foundation.
Please consult with your financial planner or tax advisor to guide you on how this can be accomplished so that you could help us help many more children and their families.
